In 2004, the teenage filmmakers produced a three hour "Return of the King" parody, at ages 11 & 13, which debuted at ORC 2006, and was featured on TheOneRing.net. Winners of the "Dork of the Rings" film contest & ELF music video contest, M.A.R.S. has screened films at GenCon, Dragon*Con and produced documentaries of Dragon*Con and Starbase Indy, with interviews with various celebrities, such as Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica). With the popularity of their "Middle Earth Idols" music video, M.A.R.S. produced an extended version featuring the top 12 contestants, with celebrity guest judges Kiran Shah, Daniel Reeve, Dean Haglund, Grant Wilson and more. "Middle Earth Idols" premiered at ORC 2007 in Burbank, California. Andy Serkis was among the guests to watch the fan favorite encore performance of Gollum. USA Today blogged their recent "Middle Earth Idols" film.
In addition to their devotion to the LOTR genre, M.A.R.S. films paranormal investigations for Darkness Radio, with guests Jason & Grant from TAPS/Ghost Hunters, and recently filmed investigations of the Queen Mary and Stanley Hotel. Their Queen Mary film & "Most Haunted" parody premiered at the Stanley Hotel in March 2007. M.A.R.S. will film at Eastern State Penitentiary & Waverly Hills Sanitarium during the coming weeks, and are currently in production of an original work entitled, "On the Wings of Dragons." |
