B-17 Memphis Belle

The most famous Flying Fortress of WWII sets out again on her 25 missions in CFS3 and re-creates her War Bonds tour in FS2002/2004. The Memphis Belle was probably the most famous B-17 of WWII. After completing 25 missions with the USAAF, she left her base at Bassingbourn and returned to the USA to tour the country raising money for the War Bonds appeal. Immortalised in film in 1943 and 1990, the Belle is now designated a national historic treasure and her very name recalls the days when brave young men, who were a long way from home, fought for freedom in the skies over Europe. This illustrious aircraft now flies again in CFS3 where her 25 missions have been meticulously re-created and the base at Bassingbourn has also been modelled for CFS3 and FS2002/2004.
