Dear Western Art lovers and Western Heritage enthusiasts:
Each year we reach out to you, our most valuable resource, seeking support for the Phippen Museum’s Annual Appeal Campaign. But your thoughtful consideration has never been more crucial than it is now as we navigate the troubled waters of a shaky economy.
We rely on your generous support each year to ensure our ability to present quality Art of the American West for the enjoyment of all our guests and visitors. These contributions also provide for the preservation of our rich Western heritage for both current and future generations. As the new year quickly approaches, the Phippen has created an exciting exhibit schedule for 2010, including:
- The Greatest Earth on Show — through February 21, 2010, offering the finest work fromcontemporary and traditional Western landscape artists, including Maynard Dixon and James Swinnerton.
- All Aboard: The life and work of Marjorie Reed — a well known Western artist whose life was almost as colorful as her artwork.
- Artist at Work: The Kenneth M. Freeman Legacy Exhibition — This exhibition celebrates the work of Ken Freeman, who received international accolades for his work in American Western art and was named “Rembrandt of the Rodeo” by the press.
As a supporter of the Phippen Museum, the Board of Trustees and Staff would like to acknowledge your crucial role in the success of the museum’s mission. As the Phippen evolves and grows, considerate supporters like you remain our most important asset. Your generosity enables us to provide a cultural experience that is both educational and enlightening. And it is in this genuine spirit of enrichment that we ask you to please consider making a year-end gift to the Phippen Museum.
We need your support more than ever as we continue working to preserve and exhibit museum quality Western Art, and educate the public about the unique heritage, history, legends and influence of art of the American West. And your deductible contribution not only reduces your income tax liability, but it also determines the exhibits and programs we can provide. So as the museum’s Executive Director, I am requesting that you please join me in making a contribution to this vital fundraising effort. You may use the convenient, secure online donation form below, or contact the museum at (928) 778-1385 for assistance.
Best wishes for the holidays, and may art bring you joy, solace and understanding in 2010.

Kim Villalpando, Executive Director
