The painting depicts the Chiricahua Mountains as a backdrop. These mountains with its steep cliffs and meandering canyons was a rendevous point for all in Apacheria and prized for its abundance of game and editable plant life to sustain one for long periods of time. Upon closer view, one can see the faces of Geronimo, Mangus Coloradas, Naichi, and Cochise on the wall behind the eagles.
