A Word About Album Design Styles
With the advancement of computer graphics technology combined with photography, wedding albums are becoming more sophisticated in terms of layout and design. Some newlyweds, along with photographers, are concerned with the thought of their albums looking dated in the years to come. They will! No matter how simple or elaborate — each book, each photographic image, will show its age in time. Fashions, color, design and styles are in constant flux and always have been. Look at your parents' and grandparents' albums. They’re probably flat black and white or flat color images simply arranged. The content of the images alone are dated by the styles of the dresses and suits worn, let alone the photography style. Perhaps those “cats eye” eyeglasses your grandmother wore look funny now, or how about dad’s “mutton chops” and velvet tuxedo. These were all the rage in their time and I would bet, looking back, no one would change a thing! Even Princess Diana's dress and sapphire from 1981 were dated by 1990.
So, our advice to you on your album design is to embrace the day with who you are now. Allow your personality and your style of today to shine through in your album. No matter how elegant, sophisticated, fun or unique your wedding day was, your album should reflect your tastes on that day. Time ages everything and looking back, you will want to remember it as you were. Face it, your future children and grandchildren will be in awe of your beauty and slim physiques of the time, but will still laugh at the styles of the day. Embrace it!
Please Note:
You will need to submit a release form or a copy of the contract with your photographer stating YOU have reproduction rights to the images unless referred by a participating photographer. |
